How to Add Geofeed to APNIC — Step-by-Step Guide

Adding Geofeed to APNIC

APNIC (Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre) supports geofeed through the remarks: attribute on inetnum and inet6num objects. APNIC also supports the geoloc: and country: attributes for additional geolocation precision.

Prerequisites

  • An APNIC MyAPNIC account with maintainer access to the relevant object
  • A geofeed CSV file hosted on a publicly accessible HTTPS URL
  • Your IP prefix must be registered in the APNIC Whois database

Step 1: Log In to MyAPNIC

  1. Go to MyAPNIC
  2. Log in with your credentials
  3. Navigate to ResourcesMy Resources

Step 2: Find and Edit Your Object

  1. Search for your inetnum or inet6num object
  2. Click to view the object details
  3. Click "Modify"

Step 3: Add Geofeed Attributes

Add the following attributes to your object:

country:    JP
geoloc:     35.6762 139.6503
remarks:    Geofeed https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/geofeed.csv

Attribute Details

AttributeDescription
country:ISO 3166-1 country code (e.g., JP, AU, IN, SG)
geoloc:Latitude and longitude in decimal format, space-separated
remarks:RFC 8805 geofeed URL reference

Step 4: Submit and Verify

  1. Submit the modification
  2. Verify by querying APNIC Whois: APNIC Whois
  3. Allow 24-72 hours for geolocation databases to update
