How to Remove IPv4 Blacklists: A Step-by-Step Guide

At IPv4.Center, we specialize in buying and selling IPv4 addresses, and we understand how frustrating it can be to find your IP range blacklisted by services such as Barracuda, Spamhaus, SORBS, Spamcop, DNSBL, or MxToolbox. Fortunately, many blacklists allow you to request removal, and we're here to guide you through the process.

Our website also offers a free blacklist checker tool, which you can access here, to identify if your IPs are listed. Once you've identified a blacklist, follow the steps below for each service to initiate delisting.

Steps for Removing Blacklist Records

1. Removing from SORBS

To remove your IP from the SORBS blacklist:

  • Visit the SORBS Delisting Portal.
  • Click on the "DELIST AN IP ADDRESS" button.
  • If you don't already have an account, register.
  • Create a support ticket with the following message:
"The end-users responsible for abusing xxx.xxx.xxx.0/24 have since been terminated. The entire range is no longer in use and is in the process of being transferred to a new entity who need the range to be free of blacklists."

2. Removing from Barracuda

To remove your IP from the Barracuda blacklist:

  • Go to the Barracuda Removal Request Page.
  • Fill in your Email Server IP Address.
  • Provide your abuse contact email (e.g., info@ipv4center.com) and confirm any emails they send.
  • Enter your phone number (they will not call, but it's important to provide correct details).
  • Use this removal request reason:
"The end-users responsible for abusing xxx.xxx.xxx.0/24 have since been terminated. The entire range is no longer in use and is in the process of being transferred to a new entity who need the range to be free of blacklists."

3. Removing from Spamhaus

Spamhaus is one of the most commonly used blacklists to prevent spam.

  • Visit the Spamhaus Blocklist Removal Center.
  • Enter your IP in the lookup field and click Search.
  • If your IP is listed, follow the instructions for submitting a removal request.
  • Provide any necessary evidence that the IP abuse has been addressed. Spamhaus often requires detailed information on how the abuse occurred and what has been done to stop it.

4. Removing from Spamcop

Spamcop lists IPs that have sent emails reported as spam.

  • Visit Spamcop's Removal Request Page.
  • Enter your IP address in the IP address field.
  • After confirming that your IP is listed, follow the instructions to submit a delisting request.
  • You may be asked to provide evidence that the abuse has been addressed.

5. Removing from DNSBL

DNSBL blacklists are often used by mail servers to reject incoming spam messages.

  • Visit DNSBL's Information Website.
  • Enter your IP in the Lookup IP field.
  • Follow the instructions to submit a delisting request for any listed blacklists.
  • DNSBL removal processes vary by provider, so ensure you follow their specific instructions carefully.

6. Removing from MxToolbox

MxToolbox provides a widely used blacklist lookup and delisting service.

  • Go to the MxToolbox Blacklist Check.
  • Enter your IP address in the Lookup field.
  • Review the results for any listings, and follow the link to each blacklist provider's removal process.
  • Each blacklist provider may have its own process, so make sure to provide accurate information and proof of resolution.
