Understanding RIPE NCC Fee Structure
RIPE NCC operates on a membership-funded model. All LIR members pay annual fees that fund the registry's operations, database maintenance, policy development, and member services.
Fee Categories
Sign-Up Fee
A one-time fee when you first become a RIPE NCC member. As of 2026, this is approximately EUR 1,000.
Annual Service Fee
The annual fee is based on a tiered model related to the size of your resource holdings. The base annual fee starts at approximately EUR 1,400 per year for the smallest tier. Larger resource holders pay proportionally more.
Fee Tiers
| Category | Resource Size | Approximate Annual Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Extra Small | Minimal resources | ~EUR 1,400 |
| Small | Small allocations | ~EUR 2,000 - 3,000 |
| Medium | Medium allocations | ~EUR 4,000 - 6,000 |
| Large | Large allocations | ~EUR 8,000 - 15,000 |
| Extra Large | Very large holdings | EUR 15,000+ |
Note: Exact fees are determined annually by the RIPE NCC Executive Board and may change. Check RIPE NCC's official billing page for current rates.
What Your Fees Cover

- Transfer processing (no separate transfer fee)

Cost Considerations
- No per-transfer fees: RIPE NCC does not charge separate fees for IPv4 transfers
- Payment terms: Annual fees are typically invoiced at the start of each year
- Closure: If you close your LIR, resources must be returned or transferred
- Sponsor LIR alternative: Using a sponsoring LIR avoids direct membership fees but introduces a third-party dependency
Whether you maintain your own LIR or use a sponsor, purchasing IPv4 through our platform ensures a smooth process with full compliance support.
